Salmon Recipes - healthy and yummy!

 

We all know that eating salmon is good for your health. Salmon is rich in Omega-3 which has several health benefits, especially for the cardiovascular system and for the brain. Grilled salmon recipes are easy to cook and ready in minutes.  Here are some easy salmon recipes that are among our family favorites. Remember to buy fresh salmon and cook it right away.

Basic Grilled salmon recipe


Grilled salmon

 

Cooking time: 20 minutes

Makes: 4 servings

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound salmon fillet
  • one lemon 
  • salt
  • ground black pepper

 Preparation:

  1. Season the thick salmon fillet with salt, drops of lemon and ground black pepper. 
  2. Brush on each side with olive oil.
  3. Place salmon on the preheated grill and cover with a heavy duty aluminum foil. 
  4. Cook the salmon about 8 minutes on each side. The rule of thumb is to cook for 10 minutes for every one inch of thickness, but then that depends on your grill as well. To ensure that the salmon is done you can cut into the thickest part of the fillet and check the color.Place the salmon on a long platter and sprinkle with lemon.
  5. Serve with  slices of lemon on top.

Cooking time: 20 minutes

Makes: 4 servings

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound salmon 
  • salt 
  • ground black pepper 
  • hot pepper 
  • paprika powder 
  • 2-3 garlic cloves

 Preparation:

  1. Grill the salmon as in the previous recipe.
  2. While grilling, boil water in a pot with salt, paprika powder, slices of hot pepper and 2-3 crushed garlic cloves.
  3. When the salmon is cooked, put the hot salmon into a deep bowl.
  4. Pour the hot brine on the grilled salmon.
  5. Serve with parsley leaves on top.

 

 Baked salmon


Cooking time: 20-25 minutes (preparation: 5 minutes, cooking: 15-20 minutes)

 Makes: 4 servings

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound salmon 
  • one lemon 
  • salt 
  • ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon white wine

 Preparation:

  1. Season the thick salmon fillet with salt, drops of lemon and ground black pepper.  
  2. Place salmon on baking pan with lemon slices on it.  
  3. Preheat the oven at 350 F and bake the salmon for about 8 minutes.
  4.  Pour 1 tablespoon white wine. Flip the salmon fillets on the other side for another 8 minutes. 
  5. Place salmon on a long platter and sprinkle with lemon drops.
  6. Serve with slices of lemon on top.
