Fruit Salad - A light gourmet dessert

 

A very healthy dessert option, was always a favorite in our family, and it is ready in minutes. Our family tradition was to always start the New Year with this healthy dessert recipe.

 

Fruit Salad Recipe

 

Preparation time: 15 minutes

Makes: 12 servings

Ingredients:

  • 1 apple
  • 1 pear
  • 1 orange
  • 10 strawberries
  • 2 apricots
  • 2 bananas
  • 20-30 sour cherries (can use cherries instead)
  • 1 can  pineapple
  • 2-3 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons rum
  • 3-4 tablespoons white wine

Preparation:

  1.  Slice the  apple, pear, orange, bananas in a large bowl.
  2. Add the pineapple, the halved apricots, the cherries and the berries.
  3. Sprinkle with sugar and rum.
  4. Add white wine on the top of the fruits.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 1/2 hour.
  6. Serve in cups. If desired add whipped cream on top.
